The Peculiar Form is a small multidisciplinary studio dedicated to research, investigation, and development within the focus of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Multi-media, Art, and other foci yet to be defined.

Robert Jason Cross

Jason Cross grew up moving between Texas and New Mexico where distance, solitude, and landscape were branded into his being. He was first introduced to design as a child while attending his mothers studio art classes at the University of Texas. Cross graduated with honors from the University of New Mexico where he received his Bachelors of Arts in Architecture. He then moved to Houston, TX where he attended The Rice School of Architecture obtained a graduate degree in Architecture. Before studying Architecture, Cross had a successful career as an award winning graphic and interaction designer. His expansive knowledge base in differing fields has honed his focus on the overlap of disciplines, methods, and modes of production.

Chad Loucks

Chad Loucks was raised in Arkansas where he was introduced to industrial design by his father. Chad developed a keen understanding and passion for the aspects of design, fabrication, and detail - becoming an advocate for a simple clean utilitarian aesthetic paired with a functional design clarity. Chad would eventually end up in Texas where he worked as a contractor and eventually in the film industry doing set design, animation, and special effects. After working on such movies as Rushmore and name of movie Chad became the Fabrication Director at the Rice University School of Architecture where he would lead the development of digital fabrication facilities over a ten-year period.in the fields of Industrial Design, Fabrication, Construction, and Cinema - Chad is uniquely qualified in the overlap of mediums and methods.
